DHAKA, Bangladesh - Lightning has wreaked havoc across the southeast Asian nation of Bangladesh.
At least ten people died on Saturday after being struck by lightning in 3 separate districts.
Bangladesh is known for lightning strikes.
According to the NGO 'Save the Society and Thunderstorm Awareness Forum,' 126 people have been killed by lightning in Bangladesh in the past two months.
The organization said it gathered the data from at least 10 local and national newspapers, some online portals and television stations.
The victims include twenty-one women, 7 children and ninety-eight men.
Most of them, the forum said, were killed while fishing or bringing cattle back home from the field. Some of the victims died while sleeping in houses made of corrugated tin-sheets, and standing under trees.
Fifty-three people were also injured in lightning strikes during this period.
Saturday's strikes killed mostly farm workers in the districts of Pabna, Mymensingh and Chuadanga.
